The KatZ have been selected to play at the Exmouth Festival on Bank Holiday Monday 26^th May 2014, Garth Gibson Stage, Manor Gardens @ 7.45pm. We are delighted to have been invited to perform at this burgeoning family event for the third successive year.

Talking of Music Millennium. It was my immense pleasure to perform in store on Sunday 20^th October. It was my sixth time playing the special feature event hosted by Terry Currier and MM staff. A lovely afternoon was capped by receiving an unexpected recording of the show. So, 'Martin Weller Live in America 2013' is now available direct from me :) 17 tracks including a mix of my songs from the last fifteen years or so. Plus old favs from Ray Davies, Billy Bragg and Tom Robinson.

News - Weller solo album and perhaps a CRUSH UK reunion?

Introducing 'Gobshite' by Martin Weller.

These are the first songs that I have written since CRUSH UK parted in October 2011. After our trip to Oregon September 2011 I decided it was time to change and my favourite project needed a rethink before it got stale.

I still play many of the Crush classics in my solo set, with The Kniks and Big 'Ed, but I reckon it's time to get another band together to bring some the old songs back to life and provide a platform to play tracks from 'Gobshite' and future recordings.

Whilst I seek members for the next Crush, Mr Dudley has suggested a reunion of sorts at his birthday bash in October. More of all this as the story unfurls.....

Here is the 'news'.


CRUSHUK.com is alive and kicking for another year. There is so much
music, information and memories on the site, I couldn't let it go. I
will continue to update it with the help of webmeister Leslie, so do
have a look form time to time for new downloads, pix and all the gig
info on one page.


We've got a good mash of activity coming up with The Kniks back in
action playing Kinks, Jam, Who and Small Faces tracks, the KatZ doing
what we do and new singer with Big 'Ed & The Red Rockers, Sara Corser
fitting in just lovely.

There is a season of Sundays in Manor Gardens, Exmouth right through
to the end of August with a variety of music, art and other
entertainment from 2pm til 5pm every week. Well worth taking a picnic
and enjoying the atmos.

Both are alive and kicking, doing well and enjoying their musical pursuits.

We had a close call for a CRUSH UK reunion, but the money was no good ;)


We have a donor who is prepared to pay to keep www.crushuk.com up and running for the next year at least, so Webmaster Leslie and I will be keeping the site up to date, adding new pix, recordings, interviews, etc.

Do drop by once in a while and don't forget to post the message board. Anything other than 'UGG boots' adverts would be great :)

It is just over a year since the passing of my dear friend Don Younger and a new portrait is hanging in the Horse Brass, Portland, Oregon.

I had the great pleasure of meeting David briefly at Don Younger's memorial at the Horse Brass last February. David made a grand entrance into the bar, sliding down the fours or so steps, guitar in hand and somehow managed to keep his dignity intact. He blamed it on his new leather soled boots :) Anyway, we got chatting at the bar and I learned so much about his music career and his amazing life. Sadly, David died last October, but his memories and recordings are all on the new website - http://davidreamusic.com/ShortysGhost.asp

Do take a look if you get a chance. He was a sleeping giant.
