Bon jour
I hope you are in fine form.
February went by in a flash and we had our ups and downs, but we’re still in the game - just!
In brief
All our shows at the Globe in Lympstone have been cancelled due to Le Crunch, so we’re on the hunt for new adventures particularly for Saturday 28th March 2009 - any venue suggestions would be welcome.
We’ve had fun finishing off the latest CD: ‘99_09’ - 10 years of CRUSH UK, writing new material and rehearsing some old chestnuts including ‘All the young dudes’ and ‘Don’t you want me baby?’ to add to our mash up!
BobKatZ have introduced new songs from Muse, Blur, Clash and more, which are starting to work well. I have compiled a live CD featuring our performances from two shows in January 2009. It’s kind of an official bootleg (i.e. rough and ready) but well overdue judging by the requests we get from some of our audience. ‘KatZ CDs are only available at our shows, so there’s another good reason to come and see us :)
OK, here is the show list for March 2009

Here is the rest…
‘KatZ on fire’ - live review of the drummer ;)
“Every so often there comes the day when a gig hits a level that is unexpectedly good. I have seen the BobKatZ before and ignored their own publicity about being the best punk/rock in the area because I am simply cynical of all publicity and choose to decide for myself.
Tonight at the Longbrook was one of those gigs that impressed me enough to believe they may actually be right; they were on fire - the deciding factor was the superb drumming performance, not wishing to take anything away from other members of the band, in this instance it takes three to tango.
The second half saw a great rendition of Kaiser Chiefs' number "Never miss a beat" which was a delight indeed and played to perfection. They played many of the old favourites as well with the Ramones' "Havana Affair" being another I enjoyed. I just hope they are on this form the next time I see them.”

London calling
As it is CRUSH UK’s 10th anniversary we have pushed the boat out and booked ourselves a gig at the Grey Horse, Kingston on Saturday 24th October 2009.
We have a lot of friends (we hope) still in London and have starved them of our presence for the last five years, so we are looking forward to a riotous assembly ;)
Admission will be £5 on the door and we may well have a support band.
Your events in 2009 and beyond
We still have available dates this year, so please bear us in mind to perform at your events.
We are always delighted to play at weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.
House parties are another option. We don’t need much room :)
Our rates are reasonable starting from £80 for an acoustic solo performance, so let us know what you need and when and we’ll be happy to oblige if we can.
Plus we are always on the look out for new venues, so if there’s a place you think we’d fit in, just let us know and we’ll give it a whirl.
Download of the month @ www.crushuk.com
‘Regrets’ taken from ‘Pay attention’.
Not included on ‘99_09’ but a great story beautifully delivered.
Ok, that’s it.
Come and join Weller on Myspace, Facebook or Friends reunited. It’s all good fun!
We hope to see you out and about.
