Here’s the latest exciting update from Martin Weller, CRUSH UK & BobKatZ for October 2009!
Yeah, I know. The leaves are falling, it's getting dark at stupid o'clock, but never mind we have plenty of shows to entertain you.
Proper Devon weekend ahead for CRUSH UK
After what seems like months since our last proper visit to the region (what with the BobKatZ stealing the limelight :), there's a proper Exmouth bonanza this weekend for CRUSH UK. We will be playing at three of our favourite venues in the South West showcasing new material as well as our classic mix to the Devon faithful :)
CRUSH UK - London show confirmed
We've been banging on about playing in London (well Surrey if you want to nitpick) for ages and we are set to play our show on Saturday 24th October at the Grey Horse, Kingston. We really hope to enjoy your support. Admission is a mere 5 quid and we will be playing a special set to celebrate 10 years of Weller, Dudley & Bell aka CRUSH UK.
Introducing 'Big 'Ed and the Red Rockers'
The latest addition to the CRUSH UK alumni is party band 'Big Ed and the Red Rockers' (anyone remember 'Dragonfly'?) - Not content with Crush, the KatZ and a 'solo career' Weller decided to introduce another outfit who specialise in playing music from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
It was just an idea that seems to have captured the imagination and old big head seems to be in demand :)
The musicians may changes from gig to gig, but the players are all quality and you might see some familiar faces in the line ups ;)
Open mic nights
Weller has been hosting open mic nights in Exmouth for a while, but the latest evening, a new venture at the Ashcombe Village Club was great fun and he has been invited to host another event on Wednesday 4th November. So you have plenty of time to brush up on your favourite songs and come and give us a star performance. 'Marnie' deserves a special mention for her showcase on September 24th. Marnie was terrific and we hope to see her at the club again.
The regular Monday open mic nights at the Famous Old Barrel, Exmouth are very successful, but there is always room for new talent, so feel free to drop by any Monday night from 8.30pm.

Other news
USA 2010
CRUSH UK have started planning their trip to Oregon to play a few festivals, the usual haunts and hopefully a big ole garden party into the bargain. It was great to hook up with Terry from Music Millennium in London for the Mott the Hoople shows and talk a bit of shop as well :)
We are looking forward to seeing our dear friends in and around Portland next Summer.
Our schedule for 2010 is filling up nicely.
If you would like any of the acts to play at your party, or special event, please get in touch as soon as possible. We hate to disappoint, but we get asked to play sometimes at such short notice and we have to say no.
Provisional bookings with deposit are always welcome.
